A provision of the Dodd-Frank Act repealed Regulation Q effective July 21, 2011, which prohibited member banks of the Federal Reserve System from paying interest on Commercial Demand Deposit Accounts (DDAs). As a result, UMB has developed a Hybrid Checking account product.
UMB Hybrid Checking combines features of our Regular Checking and Performance Checking accounts, offering Earnings Credit to offset monthly service charges and interest on any excess balances.
Hybrid Checking Account Features
- Interest is paid based on balance tiers
- Unlimited check writing while earning interest
- FDIC insurance
- Monthly statement
