Online Banking Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between viewing my account activity online and my electronic statement (e-statement)?
Both your online account activity and your electronic statements show your transactions and are free of charge. However, your online account activity also shows all of your recent and pending transactions for the past 90 days. Your e-statement is an exact replica of your monthly paper statement that you receive by postal mail. It includes transactions from a set period of time (a statement period) but does not include your pending transactions.
Is there a difference between my e-statement and my paper statement?
No, there is no difference. Legally, your e-statement must be identical to your paper statement.
How do I view my e-statement in online banking?
On the Your Accounts page, click the Statement link to see a list of available e-statements for that account. The statements will be in PDF format so you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader on your Internet browser. If you do not have Adobe Reader, you can download it for free. In addition to viewing your e-statement online, you may also save it or print it.
Is there a fee for e-statements?
There is no fee to receive e-statements.
How do I elect to receive e-statements?
Click the Statement Options link under the top navigation Accounts tab.
For each listed account, select E-statements Only to discontinue receiving paper statements and view your statements online only.
Select Paper Statements to receive a paper statement in the mail.
You may also click the link Select All For E-Statements or Select All For Paper Statements if you wish to keep your statement delivery consistent across all of your accounts with us.
Click Next. The E-Sign Disclosure is displayed.
Read the disclosure text and select the “I have read and accept this disclosure” option.
Click Next. You will proceed to the next step, where you can change your e-mail address if necessary.
Be certain to enter the correct e-mail address. UMB will send you an e-mail when your e-statement is available to view online. If that e-mail is returned as undeliverable after three attempts, the system automatically changes your statement preference back to paper.
If you want to change the e-mail address where you want to receive e-statement notifications, select Change E-mail Address and enter the new e-mail address in the E-mail and Verify E-mail boxes.
If you want to use the displayed e-mail address, select Use Current E-mail.
Click Submit. The final step summarizes the changes you made to your statement preferences, if any.
How do I request to no longer receive paper statements?
When you choose to receive e-statements, you no longer receive paper statements by postal mail.
Do I need special software to view my e-statement?
The statements will be in PDF format so you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader on your Internet browser. If you do not have Adobe Reader, you can download it for free. In addition to viewing your e-statement online, you may also save it or print it.
Will I still be able to see images of my checks?
Yes. You will continue to see check images on your e-statement if your paper statements included images of your paid checks. You can also view individual check images in your account history in online banking.
How do I save my statements on my computer?
To save your statement to your computer, click Save a copy in the Adobe toolbar.
If you do not have Adobe Reader on your Internet browser, you can download it for free. In addition to saving your e-statement online, you may also print it.
How do I print my e-statement?

If you do not have Adobe Reader on your Internet browser, you can download it for free. In addition to printing your e-statement, you may also save it.
How long are my statements available?

Will you send me an e-mail when my statement is available online?
