Mariner Kemper is chairman and chief executive officer of UMB Financial Corporation. He has been with the company for more than 30 years and has served and led in many roles.
Under Mariner’s leadership as CEO, UMB has grown from a $6.9 billion, Midwest-focused bank into a super-regional, financial services powerhouse with $71.8 billion in assets (6/30/25).

James Rine (Jim) is president of UMB Financial Corporation and president and CEO of UMB Bank, n.a. As UMB Bank CEO, Jim is responsible for the bank’s revenue generation and operations, including commercial and personal banking, institutional services, wealth management, information and technology, and credit administration.
